BERNARD DeKOVEN

Dr. Bernard's father was Sam (Sampson) and his mother was Pearl (born Synauk). They both came to America and Sam died in Chicago around 1915. We think Sam may have had a grocery store. By then they had left Maxwell Street and were living around Marshfield Boulevard. We believe Pearl was still alive in the mid/late 1920s. Sam's father was Yehuda.

Dr. Bernard was very prominent in Chicago Jewish life and I think he was an active Zionist in the 1920s.
