About:

Zev's first name comes from the Torah (Gen. 30:20). The name Zevulun (or Zvulun) means holy resting place.  The tribe Zevulun resided by the sea shore, and financially supported the Torah study of their cousins in the tribe of Issachar. In Kings I (8:13), Shlomo Hamelech (King Solomon) used the word upon bringing the Aron Hakodesh up from the city of David to rest in the first temple.

According to "The Complete Book of Hebrew Baby Names" by Smadar Shir Sidi (Harper and Row, 1989): "From the Hebrew 'to exalt, to honor' or 'palace on high, heavenly masion'." She also says another form is Zvul, with the same meaning, in the book of Judges.

Zev's second name comes from Julie's father Rachmiel (Z"L). The name 'Rachmiel' means Hashem is my mercy or comfort.

A great article gives a lot more information about Zevulun (Zebulon), and points out the connection between Zevulun and Holland - Zev's pre-home town.
